I am excited to announce that the 2025 Inaugural Honey Harvest took first place in the Amber Division at the Alaska State Fair!
The 2025 garden is all about education and organization. It the past, my garden beds have been a place where I plant things I want to grow, either to see if I can, or because they are things I like. I often mix the beds with some flowers and lots of veggies. The end result is an explosion of green and plants everywhere. Chaotic, beautiful, brimming with so much.
In 2025 I decided to take a slightly different approach. I wanted to focus on testing the growing methods of the things I like to grow the most. I also wanted to try and have a beautiful garden that was, maybe, a little more tame. I am trying to be more meticulous in my records for this year, and figure out how to capitalize on the space I have. Hopefully, the information I collect will help future arctic gardeners.Â
Below you will find dated photos of the beds as well as what was grown in each.Â
For more information on the growing of each type of plant, check out the 2025 Compendium.
